All About COLOR

Read these two quotes by famous artists:

Which quote do you like best, 1 OR 2?  Why?

1.  "I could say things with colors and shapes that I couldn't say any other way." ~Georgia O'Keeffe

2.  “Color! What a deep and mysterious language, the language of dreams.” ~Paul Gauguin

This first week of art class is all about COLOR!  You will:

  • Invent your own quote about color.
  • Make a color wheel.
  • Demonstrate how you can use the size of shapes to make a picture 3-D.
  • Review primary, secondary and tertiary colors.
Begin with this video!

Next, I want you to write 1-3 sentences about what you think of color.  If it helps, you can use these guiding questions:
  • How does color make you feel?
  • What is something positive colors do?
  • Why do you like colors?
  • What do colors make you think of?
Save your sentences for your project!  Next you will need some white paper and some markers.  Follow along with me in this video to begin your project!
Don't forget to add your work to Artsonia.  Just go to this site, enter the class code, and follow the directions to upload your work to your portfolio!  It is due by FRIDAY.
