Kindergarten took a look at some of Gustav Klimt's famous Art Nouveau patterns this week.  They experimented with texture as they added gold paint to their papers, trying out three brushstrokes.  They then practiced cutting basic shapes and gluing them down in the corners of their papers.  They added triangles and swirls, and filled space with any other shapes or lines they saw in Klimt's work.  Line, shape, texture, pattern and art history all played a part in the creation of these fun collages, and we got valuable practice with our art-making tools.
